2 cups whole wheat flour (sifted)
2/3 cups unsweetened organic applesauce
1/2 cup organic olive oil
1 3/4 cups almond milk
1/4 teaspoon Himalayan salt
8 teaspoons ener-g baking powder
1 teaspoon organic raw cane sugar
1/2 teaspoon alcohol free vanilla extract
***note, you can switch your flour to any flour you’d like. Oat flour and whole wheat is good also. Or any wholesome flour you desire***
Preheat your waffle iron and then start on your mixture.
In one bowl, combine all of your WET ingredients and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine all of your DRY ingredients and mix well. Lastly, slowly pour your dry ingredients into your wet mixture until all is in and combine the mixture well, making sure there are no lumps in your batter. Pour into your waffle iron and bake until golden brown. Spread a bit of homemade butter (see butter recipe) while waffle is still hot (optional). Top with fruit and maple syrup and serve warm.
