As the United Kingdom exits Europe, we find solace in the Holy Scriptures. Daniel 2:43 informs us that “they shall mingle themselves to together with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another.” Why is Europe desperately trying to be one nation rather than the many nations it is? We find answers in the Word of God.
Genesis relates the history of the ancient tower of Babylon. This tower was a complete repudiation of the Word of God. The Bible tells us that the whole world was “of one speech” God plainly gave the rainbow as a sign that he would not destroy the earth by flood. They wanted to live however they wished with no divine consequences. God defeated their purpose and confounded the language of the people.
The “Babylon builders” still exist however. The 4 kingdoms of Daniel 2 clearly illustrate the desire for one empire to rule many nations. The last of the 4 kingdoms of Daniel 2 is Rome. The divided Roman empire of today is Europe. From Charlemaylonnge, to Napoleon, to Hitler men have risen to remake this area into one. Since military force has failed, the “Babylon builders” now resort to economic incentives to consolidate their authority. Germany has the largest economy and population in Europe. They are governed by a party called the “Christian Democrats” This party was the one that stepped aside in the 1930’s so Adolf Hitler could come to power. More information information is found in a book called Hitlers Pope by John Cornwell.
Today they control the most powerful nation in Europe. Germany and Britain have fought each other in the bloodiest conflicts in human history. The British Empire was hammered by Germany, yet Britain was victorious. Now through the European Union, Germany is able to dictate terms to its ancient enemy though it is twice beaten.
This is a simplified but useful explanation. The “Babylon builders” really have not lost anything in the Brexit. The United Nations (UN) has every nation under one roof right in New York City. The UN Security Council, who can overturn any vote, has 5 permanent members. The U.S. Great Britain, France, Russia and China. So even though Britain has left the EU, it is still a main player at the U.N. Rest assured “Babylon building” will continue until the coming of Christ. Are you a “Babylon builder”? Or are you building on the Rock Christ Jesus?
